Hi, thank you for connecting with us.  My name is Jason Scheler and I have the honor to serve with Hope on the Beach Church to the community of South Walton and beyond.  The Lord brought me here in 2009 from a successful church plant in Michigan to restart Hope as their first full-time Pastor. I have a passion to love and connect people to Jesus. I define success by you being closer to Jesus and you helping others to connect to Jesus.  All heaven rejoices when this is happening.  My favorite bible verse is Luke 5:32 "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."  I am blessed to be married to Kristie and to share in life together. We have three children.  Kayla - married to Bart with 2 little boys in Phoenix, AZ.  Jacob -read more about him on the next bio, Jenna- a navy nurse.  I enjoy family, friends, cooking, fishing, biking, traveling, and the Beach.  I hope this introduction will be a starting point for us to grow together in Christ.  I would appreciate the opportunity to know you more, so please send an email, or let's connect over coffee.

Blessed to be born in a Christian home, baptized at 9 days, and attended St. John Lutheran School from Kindergarten – 12th Grade graduation. When I was in 2nd grade I felt called to be a Lutheran School Teacher. I was blessed to study Elementary Education at Concordia College, Seward, Nebraska upon graduating from high school. I was blessed to meet Jason in college and we were married in 1991. We have been blessed with 3 children that by the grace of God love Him and serve Him as adults. Kayla is married to Bart and they have blessed us with 2 grandsons. They live in Phoenix, Arizona. Jacob lives in Freeport and studying to be a pastor and serves at Hope. Jenna is an officer in the Navy and serves as a nurse in Portsmouth, Virginia. I loved teaching Preschool – 1st Grade for many years, as well as homeschooling our children for 1 year. When Jason answered the call to be a pastor and started seminary, we felt it was important for me to step out of the classroom and take on a different role in our home. I love working in the church and helping to plant 2 churches. I enjoy swimming, boating, bicycling, and time with family and friends and the beach.

Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 46:10a
